With new clients in California and a new US office, Parago is continuing to make exciting strides stateside. Thanks to the innovation and flexibility of our asset management software solutions for schools, academies, multi-academy trusts (MATs) and school districts, we are now working to support education providers in eight US states plus Washington DC.
We are delighted to announce a new working relationship with California-based Fullerton Joint Union High School District (FJUHSD). With eight high schools located in northern Orange County, FJUHSD enrolls over 13,900 students from grades 9-12, and we’re looking forward to helping them oversee the management of their unique multi-school framework.
Meanwhile, we’re pleased to be opening an office in Atlanta, Georgia, in September, set to be a new home for our US sales and support staff.
Atlanta’s exponential rise to become one of America’s technology hubs – the number of tech jobs in the state capital have grown by 46.7% since 2010 – made it an obvious choice. We aim to recruit some of the city’s top talent to fill a range of stimulating and varied roles, take a look at our careers page for the latest openings.
The Atlanta office will replace Parago Software Inc’s existing contingent based in Greenville in neighbouring South Carolina. We hope the new location will enable us to help more US-based schools better manage their resources, premises, compliance and contracts.
School asset management support from coast to coast
While our Californian clients are found on America’s West coast, the rest of our US-based customers are located towards the East.
Just as we do with all of our international clients, we work with school districts in the US to refine our school asset management software, so we can ensure it meets their particular needs. For example, many of our US customers had experienced problems and lost precious funds due to misplaced inventory, so we have developed our Account Manager module for school districts specifically to help them log and track every item across multiple sites.
This was one issue facing our original US customer, Pickens County School District in South Carolina. Parago came on board with all 28 schools in the district in 2015, which loans laptops to its students and needed a reliable process through which to keep track of a huge amount of hardware. We recommended the district-wide implementation of our cloud technology and smartphone app, which allows them to check the whereabouts of any inventory item in just a few clicks.
“With over 25 schools, we are responsible for thousands of pieces of IT equipment across a large geographical area, with technology spread out across many sites and members of staff,” said Barbara Nesbitt from the School District of Pickens County. “The use of smartphone apps is a fantastic way to manage IT inventory, and simplifies the assignment of devices across multiple schools. Parago took security very seriously, especially the ability to restrict individual users to specific areas of the system.”
We worked with our Pickens County schools for a year to finetune our school asset management software for the American educational system. Only then did we take on new customers, including Somers Central School District in New York and Northwest Tri County Intermediate Unit in Pennsylvania.
Among other key features, Laura Lee Ehrgott from Somers Central SD has noted how clear and easy our solutions are to use, while Vince Hulme from Northwest Tri County has praised their versatility.
“School Inventory Manager is the only IT management system that handles a mixture of inventory assigned to staff members and placed in specific locations,” he says. “It gives you an audit trail of the asset’s history, including identifying the user when barcodes are scanned by smartphone apps in different locations or being assigned to people. It manages the software and hardware remotely alongside the physical inventory through automated discovery agents, which is important to us when keeping an eye on things centrally.”
Schools in North Carolina, Illinois, West Virginia, Vermont and Washington DC have since become clients too. Our latest growth on US soil is the next in an exciting chapter for Parago, one that we hope will see us continue to offer efficient and streamlined asset management for school districts across the country. If you think we could help your school, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
